This site is a hobby and everyday-life blog plus a small online shop,
run by an old guy in Hokkaido who roasts his own coffee beans using
direct-fire, old-style methods.
Sorry, no international shipping. But if you’re in Japan, I’ve got you covered.

Since we’re in our winter operating season, I’m roasting on an irregular schedule. When the temperature drops below zero, roasting gets pretty tricky, so I keep a close eye on the daytime temps and squeeze it in between my main job whenever I can. This time it’s just to restock.Thankfully, I’m not exactly making a fortune—but more and more people are supporting me enough to keep this little venture going, and I’m really grateful for that. - Camera Walk in Oshiage

On my way from Narita Airport to Chūō-Rinkan, I practiced shooting with a vintage lens and took a little walk around one of the transfer stations.Come to think of it, I think this was actually my first time seeing the Skytree up close. With a 55mm prime and forcing myself to stick to horizontal shots, it seems like I’d have to head over toward Kinshichō to get the whole tower in the frame 🤣 I think I’m finally getting a feel for this lens—its quirks and how to use it. #pentaxk100d #industar_50_2 - Trip Back Home to Kanagawa

I took a few days off and went back to my parents’ place. All I really did was go see my parents’ faces, but still. It’s true that children can’t choose their parents, but the same goes for parents—they can’t choose their children either.Even so, we can choose how we interact with each other, so I want to do my best in that regard. Afterward, I stopped by a café I used to frequent back in my student days, trying to act all cool. For better or worse, this place is what “a café” means to me 🤣 Their curry bread was sold out (can’t be… Read more: Trip Back Home to Kanagawa

◯Self-introduction (Minoru Fujimoto)
Based in Shimanoshita, Furano City — and yes, I’m a licensed acupuncturist by trade.
I call my lifestyle “Rural Yōjō” — a self-styled, cost-effective way of living out in the countryside.
No one’s quite sure what I actually do, but somehow I’m managing to enjoy life in this complicated world, one day at a time.
I roast my own original coffee blends using a direct-fire roaster I built myself out of materials from the local hardware store — aiming for that nostalgic, old-school “Showa-style” kissaten coffee.
I’ve been running my acupuncture practice for over 12 years, and just started roasting coffee this past year. Thanks to the support of the local community, I continue to do both — casually, but seriously.
